Our Story

O’Brien Energy Resources Corp. is a privately held oil and gas exploration company founded in 1990 in Denver, Colorado with its headquarters in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Founders John J. Forma and Patricia O’Brien Forma created O’Brien Energy Resources over 28 years ago. With many years of experience in the oil and gas industry, they turned a small investment into a successful, thriving oil and gas exploration firm.

Our Executive Officers

Joseph Forma
President

Joseph Forma is the President of O'Brien Energy Resources. He oversees the firm’s projects, new business development, asset acquisitions and operations.  Mr. Forma also plays a vital role in the firms product commercialization, risk management, state and federal government affairs and lease acquisition. He works directly with engineers, field personnel, petroleum geologists, geophysicists, and landmen to encourage business growth and profitability. Mr. Forma graduated from the Portsmouth Christian Academy and has a degree in Business Management from the University of New Hampshire. Mr. Forma grew up in the oil and gas industry and is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. He has over 20 years of exploration, production and operating experience with O'Brien Energy. He currently resides in Rye, NH along with his two daughters Camilla and Nicola.  

Mark C. Eddinger
Executive Vice President

Mark C. Eddinger is the Corporate Executive Vice President of O’Brien Energy Resources. He has held this position since joining the company in 1995. Mr. Eddinger is responsible for supervising all legal, contractual, marketing and client relations activities. His expertise has been instrumental in building the exclusive partner base for the firm as well as facilitating its structural organization. Mr Eddinger's background in economics and finance has enabled him to implement critical strategy on an ongoing basis for the company.
Mark earned his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He resides in North Hampton, NH with his wife, Kacey, and his children Oliver, Malik, Kadric, and Landin. Mark enjoys travel, culture and spending time with his family.
Melissa Vetter
Corporate Treasurer & Controller

Melissa Vetter is the Controller, Corporate Secretary and Corporate Treasurer of O’Brien Energy Resources.
Mrs. Vetter has a vast range of skills and manages both the internal and external financial operations, as well as the daily operations of the corporation. Within finance, she is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the accounting, tax, and internal reconciliations. She also assists with human resources management, technology, and strategy.
Mrs. Vetter received her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Southern New Hampshire University and a master's certification in Human Resource Management. She has been with O'Brien Energy Resources since 1998.
Mrs. Vetter is a mother of two, a wife, and an active participant in many volunteer organizations.  She loves time with family and friends, enjoys nature, and appreciates a challenge when presented with one.
Kelby Longueil
Vice President - Business Development

Kelby Longueil is the Vice President of Business Development of O'Brien Energy Resources. His responsibilities include client relations, drilling contract management, and regulatory reporting.
Mr. Longueil began working for O'Brien Energy Resources in 2002. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire and his MBA at the WP Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.
Kelby lives with his wife, Maria, in Portsmouth, NH. They enjoy skiing, hiking and participating in volunteer work together.
Glen Brown
Consulting Geologist

Mr. Brown has broad oil and gas experience both as a senior executive and as an independent explorationist. Mr. Brown served as the Senior Vice President of Exploration for Continental Resources from 2015 to 2017. He joined Continental in 2012 as Manager of New Ventures and in 2013 was named Vice President of Geology. During his career at Continental, he managed annual budgets of $2 to $4 billion with active leasing, drilling and completion programs. Prior to joining Continental, he was an independent owner of NE LLC from 2003 to 2012 who developed projects which resulted in over 200 wells to be drilled and completed with 12 different operators. From 1991 to 2003, he served as an Exploration Manager for EOG Resources Midcontinent Division and he was responsible for various drilling programs and numerous field discoveries. From 1985 to 1991, Mr. Brown held middle management positions for TXO Production Company in Oklahoma City and Midland Texas. From 1982 to 1985 he began his career as an Exploration Geologist with Marshall R. Young oil company in Oklahoma City. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Geology from State University of New York at Plattsburgh and a master’s degree in Geology from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces.
